Castle Crashers – Multiplayer Mayhem!

Once again Rich is trying to gather the troops as he’s spotted a sale type deal on Xbox Live Arcade for a game called castle crashers. ‘Is this another tower defence game Rich?’ ‘No Clay, imagine Golden Axe done in a cartoony style’ Ok, so I’m interested.

8 o’clock and I’ve done the gym, buried 3 extra mature cheddar cheese rolls (with red onion, naturally) and downloaded the game in readiness.

Lets f**k s**t up!

Choosing a character was as simple as pick a colour and we’re off! Bashing and smashing our way through little brown men with oversized weapons! Superb! We soon come to see that the different colour characters refer to the type of magic the character used – red for lightening, blue for ice, green for poison and orange for fire – very comical when unleashed too.

The first boss was equally as funny, a pretty beefy looking character roaring away at the far right of the screen who was promptly flattened as the real boss we’re going to fight bursts through the door behind him! Genius! It all started to flow quite nicely, dropping weapons to allow all of us to pick them up so when we visited the blacksmith we could all use them. Weapon storage is within a huge frog type beast and has some strange weapons to say the least. A branch, a wrench, a strange stick lick thing that looks like it’s wrapped in a blanket along with axes, swords and maces do help you dispense with the barrage of different enemies.

It also has the levelling up element so you can craft your chosen character into an elite, if not comical, fighting unit. So if you fancy something a

little different, if you have some friends who enjoy the lighter side of gaming and you don’t mind full levels of different animals crapping themselves do yourselves a favour and pick up this gem!
